The doctors at Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Jaipur have diagnosed his case as being Stage II but fast advancing to Stage III. His best chance of long term survival is for surgery to be performed within 30 days. Dinesh has a 15 year old daughter and 7 year old son. He is a peon with an annual income of Rs. 54,000 only. He now needs Rs. 60,000 for the treatment. Please donate generously to help him and his family in this crisis.

Venkat Ramani : Donate Online (Type patient name in 'Projects ' while filling the online donation form)

Venkat Ramani is 40, an architect, employed with a Project Management firm. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) with Philadelphia positive (PH+) chromosome, a type of blood cancer. He has undergone 4 out of the total 8 rounds of chemotherapy and the consulting doctors have advised Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).

Unfortunately, his bone marrow type has not matched with either of his two siblings and we have initiated a global search for a matched unrelated donor (MUD). The minimum estimated cost for this procedure ranges from Rs 1.5 crores to Rs 2 crores (US $400,000). Since pooling in all his savings and liquidating his assets is not going to cover the entire above mentioned cost, this is an appeal for voluntary financial help. Ramani has an eight year old daughter, Tanaya, who wishes to see her father fighting fit again.

Ramani looks forward to the day when he is no longer considered just a cancer survivor, but an activist for cancer awareness. Help make his dreams come true.

Gaurav Tandon : Donate Online (Type patient name in 'Projects ' while filling the online donation form)

Gaurav Tandon is a 34 year old professional working with a private IT firm  (Datacraft). His small family comprises wife, a 6 year old son. He has two elder sisters both are happily married and a brother who is serving as Captain in the Indian Army. Gaurav was detected with AML in November. He has responded well to chemotherapy, but must get a Bone Marrow Transplant as the only possibility for a cure. Unfortunately the HLA typing test of his siblings is negative. Doctors have therefore strongly recommended a Non-Related Allogenic transplant for which the family needs financial aid.

Abhishek Chawla : Donate Online (Type patient name in 'Projects ' while filling the online donation form)

ABHISHEK CHAWLA, a 24 year old boy is suffering from recurrent granulocytic sarcoma, a type of blood cancer. He is undergoing treatment under Dr. Sachin Almel at Hinduja Hospital. Initially he developed a swelling in right testis in July 2007, which was surgically removed, followed by 4 cycles of chemotherapy (as per AML). In August 2008 it relapsed in his chest region , for which he received 3 cycles of chemotherapy.

On account of the bone marrow involvement, he has been advised to undergo bone marrow transplantation at the earliest. Because of the non-availability of sibling or related match, he must undergo matched unrelated donor BMT. He has also not been able to locate an unrelated match in India, since the donor registry is very, very small. The only chance of survival of this young boy is in getting his BMT done. Fortunately for him the NMDP, US records show that some unrelated donors with 6/6 match are indeed available. His case has been taken up by Dr. Mammen Chandy of CMC Vellore.

However, the cost of the said procedure is Rs. 42 to 45 lakhs, which is beyond the reach of Mr. Lajpat K. Chawla the father of the boy who is a Government servant and who is due for retirement. CPAA requests you to help him financially to ensure that he is able to complete his cancer treatment.

She unfortunately had a relapse and needed a Bone Marrow Transplant. The total cost of the treatment was 20 lakhs. As her family was unable to finance the treatment, CPAA raised funds which helped her undergo BMT on 11th Aug. On 16th September, Revathy wrote us this letter. Read letter.

There is still a long road ahead. We request you to donate generously to help cover the cost of the rest of her treatment.

32 year old Dr. Kiran Kalel, ENT surgeon at Sion Hospital, was diagnosed with Ependymoma Grade II of the spinal cord in July 2007. He has been operated upon twice since then at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai by Dr. Basant Misra. Considering the sensitive site of the tumour, he has now been advised CyberKnife surgery which cannot be done in India. The nearest and cheapest alternative is Malaysia, where the cost is likely to be Rs. 13-15 lakh, a sum which is beyond the reach of the family. Please help this dedicated doctor to get the treatment he needs by donating generously.
