show. Held at the Grand Intercontinental on the 14 January
2007, this event, choreographed by Hemant Trivedi saw
successful woman from fields as varied as films, theatre,
fashion, finance, law, business, medicine & health, walk
the ramp with great élan ! Hundreds of cancer patients
stand to benefit from the proceeds of the sale of these
beautiful drapes by Shaina NC.
Compered by the effervescent
actress Rakshanda Khan, the show saw beauty queens - Amruta
Patki & Sayali Bhagat, actresses Neha Dhupia, Tara
Sharma, Mona Singh, Divya Dutta, Shama Sikandar, Shilpa Saklani, Anupama
Verma, Aarti Chabbaria, Delnaaz Paul, Dolly Thakore,
Indian Railways Service bureaucrat Alka Mishra and
many other successful women.
Several prominent citizens of Mumbai like Shri. Nana
Chudasama, Shri Pankaj Udhas, Smt. Ila Arun, Shri. Piyush
Pandey, Shri. Anil Dharkar etc. graced the event. This show was sponsored by

Reliance School of
Life Sciences organised a course in Genetic Counseling
on 27th January 2007. The first of it's kind in India, this
course provides an excellent opportunity to interact with
the best minds in the field of reproductive and fetal
medicine, empowering clinicians in day-to-day patient
management decisions, based on current evidence-based
practices.
The course provided
relevant genetic information to patients and their family
members facing risks of the disease. This two-week course aimed
at giving comprehensive training in the complex
science of medical genetics, as well as in counseling
skills. It covered various aspects of human
genetic diseases, testing and methodology, as well as
facilitated an understanding of the psychological and
social aspects of counseling in which CPAA partnered with the organisers.
Dr.Shubha Maudgal and Ms. Meghana Suchak conducted a 2 day
session on the psycho-social aspects of counseling at the
seminar.
