CPAA initiated
a 'Day Care' programme for terminally ill cancer patients under
the guidance of Dr. L J D'Souza at Shanti Avedana Ashram. Under
this program, patients are brought in from their homes or
hospitals to the Ashram and entertained through the day and
dropped back in the evening. The programme allows family members
and care-givers the much needed respite while providing the
patient a change of scene. Also, an early introduction to the
facilities available at Shanti Avedana would motivate patients
to take its benefit at earlier rather than late stages so that
their last days are as comfortable as possible.
CPAA's Shubha
Maudgal and Kavita Kulkarni addressed a group at the Bank of
America's Andheri office to present CPAA's efforts towards the
'Total Management of Cancer'. They also discussed how volunteers
of 'Serve', BOA employees' corporate social responsibility
initiative, can get associated with the organization in
community service drives.
CPAA's Neeta
More was invited by the 'Me Marathi' channel to participate in
