On the eve of Valentine's Day a candle light dinner party was organized for couples where either spouse was afflicted with cancer. The venue for this evening was the Orchid City Center. The couples had a wonderful time. Well known celebrities like Vidya Balan, Vivek Oberoi and Dino Morea made the day even more memorable by their presence. Take away gifts were sponsored by Big Bazaar and the food by Blue Foods.  This event was organized by the Cancer Insurance Policy Department of CPAA.

Exhibition at L&T Powai

As a part of CPAA'a Cancer Awareness programmes, an exhibition was arranged for the employees of L&T at their Powai campus. CPAA's Piali Syam, Bani Anand and Shubha Maudgal distributed pamphlets and answered queries regarding cancer, specifically about cancer screening at early detection camps, leading to an increase in number of registrations for the camps.

Release of 'Sahayata' in Hindi

For the benefit of the cancer patients, especially outstation patients, receiving treatment in Mumbai, CPAA regularly compiles a booklet called  ‘Sahayata', which is updated every 2 years. It is a hand book on cancer and carries all the important information pertaining to cancer and its treatment in the city. Since this English booklet gave only a restricted number of people access to the information, CPAA recently compiled a Hindi version of the same. This booklet is now available at our Corporate Head office and clinics as well as various hospitals in the city.

Manju Gupta features in Elle magazine

Elle Magazine recently published an article featuring the Executive Director of our Rehabilitation Center, Mrs. Manju Gupta's. This article talks about her numerous achievements in Cancer Patients Aid Association and discusses her work in Rehabilitation Centre.

Open Forum on Breast & Cervical Cancer for Women 

On the occasion of International Women’s Day an open forum discussion on Breast & Cervical Cancer was organized by CPAA in association with Maharashtra Times. This forum  attended by over 250 people was held at the Karnataka Sangha Sabhagriha, Matunga.  
Dr. Rajendra Badwe-Onco-surgeon, T.M.H., Dr. Hemant Tongaonkar-Onco-surgeon, T.M.H. and Dr. Mandakini Purandare-Gynaecologist were the specialist speakers at this forum, which was compeered by medical journalist, Mrs. Sandhya Patwardhan. Actress Reema Lagoo who was the Chief Guest shared her views with the audience.

  


Women's day- with a different view

Another event organised to commemorate  International Women’s Day which falls on 8th March was a helicopter in association with Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited for women affected by and undergoing treatment for cancer.
