Raval participated in the 'Lavasa Women's Drive' on 7th March.
This rally is a joint initiative with Bombay Times and funds raised are
donated towards the Women's Cancer Initiative of Tata Memorial Hospital,
a non-governmental, non-profit organization aimed at creating awareness
about cancers that affects women.
APCASOT (5th - 9th April): UICC Asia-Pacific Cancer Society Training Grants (APCASOT) is a program for staff or accredited volunteers of voluntary cancer societies located in the Asia-Pacific region. It's objective is to build cancer control capacity by participating in and learning from activities and campaigns conducted by established voluntary cancer societies in the region. CPAA is a one of the hosts for this program and hosted Dr Sarath Kumara Wattegama from Kandy, Sri Lanka this year. He is a Consultant in Oncology / Volunteer cancer worker with the Sri Lanka Cancer Society (Kandy) since 1993. At present, the Sri Lanka Cancer Society, Kandy does not have an outreach programme for the benefit of cancer patients. The organisation is looking to expand their services and Dr Wattegama was nominated to lead this effort. World Health Day was celebrated at Tata Teleservices, Turbhe on 7th April. Dr. Shubha Maudgal and Susmita Mitra attended the programme and assisted the National Marrow Donor Registry, India by counseling employees who wished to become donors.

International Women's Day: CPAA Delhi, in association with Nagarro Software Pvt Ltd organized an awareness program on Breast and Cervical cancer for all their female employees. Over 50 women participated in the program. Dr. Indu Bansal from Artemis Gurgaon made the presentation. The program received an encouraging response and was well appreciated by all the participants. Movie Show for Cancer Patients: 60 cancer patients were taken for a movie show 'Atithi tum kab jaoge' at Delight Cinema Hall on 5th March. All of then immensely enjoyed the movie and were treated with popcorn and Pepsi. Later on they were also served hot lunch. Charity Sale on the 8th April: CPAA organized a Charity Sale on the 8th of April. This was the first time that Delhi branch had organized such an initiative. The proceeds generated from the sale will be utilized for providing medical aid to poor cancer patients |

An awareness talk on breast and cervical cancer was organised for 100 lady employees of Swarovski at Ranjangaon. Dr. Anupama Mane talked on causes, symptom and prevention of the cancer, on 9th March. Talk was followed by question answer session. Make a Cancer Patient Smile program was held on 29th April for the patients of Command Hospital (Male Ward). Entertainment programme of music was held. Brothers Mr. Anup Banerjee and Mr. Amitabh Banerjee played hindi film songs on mouth organ and guitar accompanied by Ms. Neeti Kaikini singing songs. Delicious snacks were sponsored by Hotel Le Meridian. About 60 patients enjoyed the program. |

Colours of Life VI - Reach for Art, Reach for a cause : Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) in association with Cymroza Art Gallery is delighted to present their sixth Annual Art Exhibition 'Colours of Life'. This year’s collection includes 167 Indian artists. The range of work covers a wide spectrum of interpretations and utilizes various mediums. Curator, Piali Syam has carefully selected a number of outstanding pieces to cater to a wide audience of art lovers and range of budgets. The theme for this year's exhibition is Reach for Art - Reach for a cause. The exhibition allows art lovers to contribute to the cause as well as take home a masterpiece.
