CPAA twinning project India: UICC Funded Twinning Project launched on 20th June:
To share the learnings of the past 40 years, in particular, our philosophy of the "Total  Management of Cancer", CPAA is identifying 25 NGOs from each of the Indian states who are working in the field of cancer. They will be invited to spend a week in Mumbai. In June, a group from Maa Sharada Aasar Aalo Cancer Helpline, Jharkhand visited CPAA. So far, groups from Assam, Karnataka, Orissa and Gujarat have been identified.

Sushmita Sen's 'I am she' grooms participants for the Miss Universe pagent. Under her guidance, the 'I am foundation', a  non profit organisation working in the field of cancer among other issues, has selected CPAA along with four other NGOs to work with the top five participants. The aim is to raise funds for their cause. On 30th May, CPAA representatives were invited for a function where it was announced that Shruti Iyer, the third runner up would be associated with CPAA. It is a mark of Shruti's commitment that, the very next day she attended CPAA's World No Tobacco Day mega check up at the Azad Maidan Police Station to support the cause.

CPAA’s monthly breast cancer support group [3rd June 2010, Nalanda, Bandra]: This month Ms Nishu Singh, a yoga instructor  and CPAA trained counselor was invited to meet the group and teach the patients and survivors some introductory yoga. This session was extremely well received by all and from now on we plan to integrate an hour of yoga into our support group meetings as everyone found it so beneficial.

The AFTC (Advocacy Forum for Tobacco Control) Networking Conference was held from 23-25 of June at Mumbai. The meeting largely focused on networking of all member organizations and the next steps for AFTC as a tobacco control coalition in India. Drs. Shubha Maudgal and Shital Raval attended the conference.

4 Awareness lectures by Mrs. Neeta More on Breast and Cervical cancer for female staff and on prostate cancer for male staff at The Oberoi Hotels and Resorts on 29 & 30th June 2010.

Essar Cookie Sale: Two women who's families have been affected by cancer underwent training in baking. The programme entitled "Udaan" was organised along with FLO, the women's branch of FICCI. After a thorough training programme, cookie sales were organised by Aegis, part of the Essar group, under their "Happy World" CSR campaign. Sales were held at their Bandra Kurla and Mahalaxmi offices. A sale at FLO AGM was also extremely successful. The cookies were completely sold out. Training Programme: Aegis of the Essar Group conducted a week long rigorous programme from 28 June - 1 July to train women affected by cancer to become successful entrepreneurs as a part of their "Happy World" initiative. The training consisted of lectures on basic finance, planning, grooming, spoken English and marketing. The course is the same programme they conduct for their BPO employees, but was offered free of charge to these women.

In June an Awareness Talk was held at Alandi Gaon which was attended by 30 ladies and a Detection Camp was held for ladies at Ranjangao where 72 ladies were screened.
