COLOURS OF LIFE - EXHIBITION & SALE OF PAINTINGS

All these flowers are for you - Gogi Saroj Pal For the second consecutive year, Cancer Patients Aid Association organised "Colours of Life" an art exhibition and sale of paintings by renowned artists for the cause of children with cancer. Today's successful artists have struggled earlier on in their careers and enormous sacrifices have been made by themselves and their family members to nurture the gift. "Panchali" - Anindita SinghYet whenever society has appealed to them, the artists have given generously. As CPAA found this year as well as last.

Through the art exhibition and sale held for the first time in 2005, we were able to reach out and support the treatment of 194 children suffering from cancer as against the previous average number of 98. This year, too we put in all efforts to ensure a great show. 73 Artists from 5 nations (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & South Africa) participated in COLOURS OF LIFE.

PATIENT CARE ACTIVITIES - AUGUST 2006

Raksha Bandhan was organized at the Ernest Borges Home, for cancer affected children on 10th August for 133 patients along with their relatives who joined in the festivities. A game of Housie was played and fruits were distributed to all. On 15th August 2006, on the occasion of Independence Day, 50 patients were treated to a tea-party at Oberoi Hotel. The patients were entertained with a Magic show and games. After some sumptuous snacks, gifts were distributed to all. 

Lecture at Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital, on THE ROLE OF HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS IN PREVENTION  & EARLY DETECTION OF ORAL CANCER

Course Objective : 
Describe the normal anatomy of the oral cavity and associated structures. Learn how to recognize abnormal tissues.
Learn how to perform a comprehensive oral cancer examination. Identifying oral cancer and pre-cancerous lesions.
Identifying soft tissues oral manifestations of diseases of local and systematic etiology. Proper referral of disease. 
Develop knowledge of oral cancer data and statistics. Learn identification for Scalpel Biopsy.
Learn about modalities for highlighting suspicious lesions. Learn the value of, and how to perform a Brush Biopsy.
Identify the oral manifestations of HIV infection, and their association with oral cancer. Recognize the risk factor association with oral cancer.
