Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) is delighted to present their Ninth Annual Art Exhibition 'Colours of Life', at THE VIEWING ROOM, Elysium Mansion, 4th Floor, Walton Road, above Bata Showroom, Colaba Causeway, Mumbai upto 22nd June, 2013, between 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.

104 leading and renowned Indian artists are coming together to showcase their work for the noble cause of raising funds for deserving cancer patients. The artists include K H Ara, F N Souza, Akbar Padamsee, Badri Narayan, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Shuvaprassana, Shipra Bhattacharyya, Prafulla Dahanukar, Subrata Gangopadhyay, Sanjay Bhattacharjya, Samir Mondal, Bharti Prajapati, Bina Aziz, Brinda Chudasama Miller, Sanatan Dinda, Atin Basak, Buwa Shete, Seema Kohli, Surya Prakash, T Vaikunthan, Yusuf Arakkal, Nayanaa Kanodia, Lalitha Lajmi, H R Das, Ramesh Gorjala, Charan Sharma, Yashwant Shirwadkar amongst others. Piali Syam, Curator of 'Colours of Life' and Director – Special Projects, CPAA says that the task of putting together the art collection for the year has been most enjoyable as there is nothing more rejuvenating than seeing the works of various artists from across the country as they arrive.

The collection has a large spectrum of works, styles, media and price range. It gives every art lover an opportunity to own a piece of work without having to stretch their budget. Also it gives a unique opportunity to the art collectors to select from different genres of artists and make their collection more dynamic. It’s interesting to view the different art cultures which are unique to every region of our country and there is a representation of almost every region in this show. One can also view art in its various forms from folk to abstract, figurative to landscape, offering a vast choice to the viewers to select from. The art here will be covering everything from folk to abstract, figurative to landscape. This show will offer as before, a unique opportunity for art collectors to obtain valuable additions to their portfolios. She points out that the participating artists have over the years become an integral part of CPAA and without their contribution the organisation’s endeavour to support cancer patients in a holistic manner would remain unfulfilled.

Senior artist Nayaana Kanodia says, “I look forward to the annual show of Colors of Life – an exhibition which makes it possible to reach out to lakhs of people afflicted with cancer who have no means to treat themselves, leave alone the diagnostic detection and rehabilitation .The dedicated staff of Cancer Patients Aid Association reaches out to all these poor and needy cancer victims.” Eminent artist Samir Mondal who has been part of this show since its inception says “It’s always meaningful to work for a good cause. Over the years I have received a lot from the society and it’s time for me to give back something in my own capacity. I have been observing CPAA for the past so many years and have full faith and support for their fight against cancer.” CPAA’s Founder Chairman and CEO Mr. Y K Sapru says, “The art exhibition for CPAA is one of the biggest and most prestigious event of our organisation. This annual event helps CPAA raise substantial amount of money which goes a long way in helping needy patients. We are extremely grateful to our artists who come forward every year to support our cause. We look forward to continuous support from the artists’ fraternity to our organisation.”

Colors of Life exhibition is worth seeing as the paintings are of an outstanding quality containing works of India’s senior and upcoming artists and definitely worth collecting these priceless paintings.
